Solitude

As this is the week to think about victims of torture here is a programme I made a while ago on solitude.  It is a 2 part series and this second programme deals with people who are forced to be alone - through a variety of different circumstances.  One man was kept in solitary confinement in a prison in S Africa during the apartheid regime, another was left alone on a mountain, badly injured.  A woman describes the loneliness of bereavement and an Anglican priest talks about his life alone because of his homosexuality.  It got great reviews when it went out and I really got a lot out of making it.  Some of it is very moving. They are both 28 mins long.
