The Last Seven

A photographer, Ian Aitken, wrote to me recently to show his photos of the last Northern White rhinos left on earth.

He is not a conservationist but was deeply moved by the experience - "Having one of the last of seven animals in a subspecies nuzzle up to you really makes your hair stand on end."

He has produced some limited edition prints which have been carefully thought through with the names of the rhinos engraved on the frames.

There are only 4 breeding Northern White rhinos left.  This is one way of art helping raise awareness of the devastation of poaching.  Soon the photo will have the rhino airbrushed out - an empty landscape.
